Hello from Monte Peony
Who we are, what we build, and why our first product helps people plan the events that matter to them.

Monte Peony is a small product studio. We design, build and run software that people rely on, from the first sketch to the thousandth user and long after launch.
This blog is where we'll share what we're making, how we make it, and practical advice for the people who use it. Here's where we're starting.
Why we exist
Plenty of software gets built. Far less of it is worth keeping. We would rather ship one thing that solves a real problem than ten that look good in a demo.
That means three things in practice:
- Useful before impressive. Every feature has to answer a real need. If it doesn't make someone's day easier, it doesn't ship.
- Built to last. Solid foundations, tested code and sensible defaults, so a product keeps working and keeps improving after launch.
- Close to the work. We're a small team with no layers in between. The people you talk to are the people building it.
Our first product: Planner
Our first product is Planner, a tool for planning events with a guest list: weddings, birthdays, work events and everything in between.
We started there because events are a surprisingly hard planning problem. The guest list lives in a spreadsheet, replies arrive in a group chat, the running order of the day is in someone's notes app, and the seating plan is on paper. Every time someone changes their reply, three of those have to be updated by hand.
Planner keeps all of it in one place: the guest list, the replies, the timeline of the day and a seating plan drawn to scale. When a guest replies, the table plan knows. You can read the whole story in Meet Planner.
Your first event is free, with everything included, and you can explore a sample event before adding a single guest of your own.
What you'll find here
- Guides for hosts: how to build a seating plan, how to collect replies without a spreadsheet, how to plan a company offsite.
- Product news when something new ships.
- Behind the scenes from the studio.
